Crank Software acquired by AMETEK to accelerate growth

Dear Community of Crankonauts,

What started with five employees above the Barley Mow (a pub) in Ottawa just over 13 years ago, has now grown to over 40 Crankonauts in one of the coolest offices in Ottawa (when we can go in) with hundreds of customers around the world. With a proven technology base and domain expertise, we have done the right things well to build technology that meets the needs of designers and developers of embedded GUI products.

Thanks to our customers and Distribution Partners, we have seen more interest from different countries and more professional services engagements than ever before.

To help accelerate our future growth and to meet the needs of the global embedded development space, some steps were taken towards making this possible.

Enter AMETEK. With a massive international presence and a diverse, decentralized business management model, AMETEK provides both the fuel to expand our growth strategy and the flexibility to maintain our high level of agility and service that our customers have come to expect. This relationship provides the added assurance to work on new initiatives and markets to propel the development of sophisticated UX for embedded systems on a global stage.

While this changes the name on our legal documentation, it is business as usual for Crank

Under AMETEK, we will continue operating as a standalone entity and will maintain our market-driven product focus and industry-leading customer experience. There will be no changes to customer support levels or sales team, the same people you dealt with before will be the same people going forward.

It takes a community to grow, so thank you to our customers, partners, and dedicated staff for your continued support. We look forward to the next 13 years (and more) of working together.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your sales or support representative.
